We love the writing community as much as we love writing itself. Join us online, at our conferences, or out in the woods to hang out with a bunch of folks who will know that flash doesn’t always involve light, hermit crabs are more than animals, and poetry doesn’t have to rhyme.

Barrelhouse Write-ins

When: Fridays at 3pm Eastern, Sundays at 1pm Eastern.

Meet up in a chat room with other writers, and spend an hour with a great balance of heads-down writing time with a few chat breaks sprinkled in. No mics, no cameras, no pressure. It might seem pretty basic, and it is, but it gets results.

Conversations and Connections Conference

Conversations and Connections is a one-day writer's conference that brings together writers, editors, and publishers in a friendly, supportive environment. We strive to make Conversations and Connections truly practical and valuable for all writers.

Writer Camp

When: late June and early August
Where: central Pennsylvania

Writer Camp is a laid-back mini-vacation with plenty of time for writing. No readings, no mandatory sessions, no schedules: you decide when it’s time to write, read, or nap in a hammock. Each participant also has the option of receiving detailed feedback from a Barrelhouse editor on their work.
